Swim Across America August 3rd - Additional Details & How to Sign up
Hello Cool Shark Families!
We are so excited for Swim Across America this year and hope to see you all at the pool on Sunday, August 3rd 5:30-7:00pm at Garden Hills Pool!
Swim 5 laps or 100 – whatever goal you choose! Kickboards
welcome! All participants receive a silicone SAA swim cap and a
treat! The Swim-A-Thon is open to all Cool Sharks swim team members and
their families (including Shark Pups and Adult Team!), as well as all Garden
Hills pool and community members.
We will have 3 participation levels:
BRONZE - $25 donation per swimmer
SILVER - $50 donation per swimmer
GOLD - $100 donation per swimmer (includes prize drawing)
Additional donations are welcome! Feel free to ask
friends and family to sponsor you (these may be collected after the event if
you'd like to get pledges "per lap").
For those of you unfamiliar with this organization, Swim Across America hosts open water swims across the country each year to raise money for cancer research. Since 2013, the Atlanta Open Water Swim (which takes place every September at Lake Lanier) has raised over $2.6 million for our beneficiary: Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Please help Garden Hills do our part by participating in our Swim-A-Thon or by making a donation to this wonderful organization. In 2019 our Cool Sharks raised $1650, in 2021 we raised over $3400, and in 2022 we raised over $2600 - let's see how much we can raise this year!
We have two simple ways to take part this year.
The first way is signing up directly to our Swim Across America home page. You can create your own profile and add yourself to our team

The second way is to use the signup genius below and then venmo your donation to @coolsharksswimteam1 (put “Swim Across America” and the swimmer’s name in the memo). You may also bring a check (payable to “Swim Across America”) to the pool on the day of the event.
