Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I don't have a SwimTopia password. How can I log in?
A. If you are new to SwimTopia, you will receive an email after registration, with instructions for activating your account and creating a password.
Q. I'm not sure if my child is ready yet for the Cool Sharks, or if they should do Shark Pups. Which team should I sign up for?
A. You can sign up for the Cool Sharks Summer Team, then bring your child to new swimmer evaluations 4/11-13. If they pass their evaluation by 4/13 (click HERE for requirements), you're all set! And if they don't, we'll refund your registration and you can sign up for the Shark Pups instead (May session registration opens 4/15).
Q. I have two children. One was on the Cool Sharks Summer Team last year but the younger one only did Shark Pups. Can I register both children during early registration on March 1st?
A. Yes, you may register them both at the same time. Siblings of Cool Sharks team members are included as part of "Returning Families" for early registration.
Q. I see that meet attendance is now an expectation for the team. What if I am out of town or need to miss a meet?
A. We understand that families are busy and may have conflicts with meets. Attending all meets is not required, but we do want to see swimmers attend as many meets as they are able, especially the championship meet. A swimmer who does not attend any meets will lose priority registration status for the following year.
Q. How do I change my account information (email, phone number, etc.)?
A. In the upper right corner of the screen (after logging in) you will see a box which says "Welcome [your name]". Hover on this then click on "My Account". You can change your address and passwords here. If you wish to change any other account information, please contact [email protected].
Q. How do I change/view/cancel my volunteer signups?
A. At any time before the day of the meet you can go back into the job signup for the meet to remove yourself or change to another available job. On meet day you will need to contact our Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected].
Q. Will practice be cancelled if it's raining? How will I know if practice is cancelled?
A. We will still swim in the rain! Unless there is thunder or lightning or heavy rain at the pool, practices will go on as usual. If practice is canceled, you will receive a notification through SwimTopia (be sure to download the app and enable push notifications, otherwise you will get an email). Q. What should I do if I am going to be late to (or need to leave early from) a meet?
A. When signing up for the meet, you will be able to leave a note for the coach - please give an estimated arrival/departure time if you know it. Please also use the relay availability prompt to let us know if you will not be available for early or late relays. Please do this before the deadline if at all possible. When communicated early, the coaches can adjust your swimmer's entries so he/she won't miss their events. Even if communicated after the deadline, at least we can arrange a substitute swimmer so our team won't lose points at the meet. After the deadline, you will be unable to make changes online and will need to email Coach Mike ([email protected]).
Q. Where do I go to check in for a meet?
A. Swimmers should go directly to their bullpens where a bullpen parent will check them in. This is important - if a swimmer does not check in, they could lose their relay spot. If a parent is volunteering they should check in at the volunteer table. This is also important - if you do not check in at the meet, you won't receive your volunteer points for that job.
