6th Annual Garden Hills Swim Across America Swim-a-thon!

to benefit the AFLAC Cancer Center at CHOA and pediatric cancer research

Sunday August 16th 5:30-7:00pm at Garden Hills Pool

Special Guest: World Champion Gold Medalist Doug Van Wie!

Doug will be cheering on our participants, signing autographs, and taking photos with our swimmers. Come ask questions about swimming and the World Championships and see some of Doug’s medals! Elite swimmers are huge supporters of the Swim Across America mission, and we are so excited and grateful to have Doug join us this year!

Swim 10 laps or 100 – whatever goal you choose! All are welcome! You do not need to be a member of the pool or our teams, and the event is suitable for all ages and abilities (kickboards will be available). Invite your friends! Stay afterwards to hang out and enjoy an evening at the pool (feel free to bring dinner and adult beverages or grab something from our concession stand). The King of Pops cart will be out on the playground, and $1 from each pop sold will be donated to SAA.

We will have 3 participation levels:

BRONZE - $25 donation per swimmer (includes SAA cap!)

SILVER - $50 donation per swimmer (includes SAA cap + t-shirt!)

GOLD - $100 donation per swimmer (includes SAA cap + t-shirt + towel!)

Additional donations are welcome!

Swim Across America (click HERE) hosts open water swims and pool swims across the country each year to raise money for cancer research. Since 2013, the Atlanta Open Water Swim (which takes place every September at Lake Lanier) and Atlanta pool swims have raised over $3.9 million for our local beneficiary: the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (click HERE for the Atlanta Impact Report). Please help Garden Hills do our part! Since 2019, our Garden Hills Swim-a-thons have raised almost $14,000 - let's see how much we can raise this year!
